How to point your domain to your Create A Shoppe website

Connecting your custom domain to your Create A Shoppe site is quick and easy. This guide will walk you through using the “Add Domain” feature inside your dashboard and updating your domain settings.


✨ Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • A domain name (purchased from Create A Shoppe, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
  • Access to your domain’s DNS settings

🛠 Step 1: Add Your Domain in Create A Shoppe

  1. Log in to your Create A Shoppe dashboard
  2. Go to:
    My Account → Domains
  3. Click “Add Domain”
  4. Click Next Step
  5. Enter your domain (example: yourdomain.com)
  6. Toggle Primary to on if this will be your website address going forward.
  7. Click Save

👉 Your domain will now appear in your list, but it still needs to be connected.


🔗 Step 2: Point Your Domain (DNS Settings)

Next, you’ll update the domain you purchased.

Create or update this record:

  • Type: CNAME
  • Name/Host: www
  • Value: your-site.createashoppe.com (or your assigned subdomain)

⏳ Step 3: Wait for DNS to Propagate

DNS changes can take:

  • ⏱ 5 minutes to a few hours (sometimes up to 24 hours)

Once it finishes:

  • Your domain will automatically connect
  • SSL (secure lock 🔒) will be applied

🔒 Step 4: Set as Primary Domain (Optional)

Want your custom domain to be the main one?

  1. Go back to Settings → Domains
  2. Click Set as Primary
  3. Save changes

✅ That’s It!

Your website is now live on your custom domain 🎉


❗ Troubleshooting

Domain not working yet?

  • Double-check your DNS records (typos are common!)
  • Make sure there are no conflicting A or CNAME records
  • Give it more time (DNS can be slow sometimes)
